Body, Mind and Spirit, an event for all the family, 23 June 2012

Body, Mind and Spirit - an event for all the family

Drop in to learn about 'healthy living' in terms of body, mind and spirit at Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum on Saturday 23 June, from 10.00am - 5.00pm

Through the eyes of Hugh Bourne

Part of the focus will be through the eyes of Hugh Bourne, a carpenter and wheelwright from Bemersley.

Walking Stick, Ruler and Boot

A 'Hugh Bourne lookalike' will talk about his own vigorous routine with the aid of a walking stick, ruler and boot.

Following Mr Wesley

Mr Bourne will also point to good herbal advice contained in John Wesley's 'Primitive Physic'.

The toils of the preachers

The toils of the preachers will be relived as bicycles, tricycles and replica penny farthings provide physical recreation for children of primary school age on the chapel drive.

The sinking of the Titanic

The magic lantern room will be busy showing magic lantern slides that were created shortly after the sinking of the Titanic in 1912.    Discover some of the heroes who were on board.

To meet 'Mr Bourne'....    To ride two wheels or three....

To watch the extraordinary Titanic magic lantern sides....

Visit Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum, Englesea Brook, Crewe, CW2 5QW, 01270 820836.
