The President of the Methodist Conference, the Rev'd Stephen Poxon visited Englesea Brook recently.

Presidential Visit to Englesea brook

Not only did he get a tour of the best Primitive Methodist Museum anywhere (honest) but he enjoyed Jill Baker's ginger biscuits as well. Can any President of Conference ask for more?

During his visit Stephen had the opportunity to chat to a number of Englesea Brook people about the work that goes on at the museum. Considerable discussion took place on the ability of heritage sites like ours to use history to help people reflect on contemporary issues in a fresh way, something that is very much at the core of what Englesea Brook does.

The president was scheduled to leave at 12.15 but actually was delayed for several minutes by another cup of tea and a left-over biscuit.
